El Paso, Texas, September 22, 2026 – El Paso Community College (EPCC) Student Government Association and Campus Leadership & Student Life is hosting former NASA astronaut Dr. Danny Olivas, a Burges High School alumnus, who will represent Astronauts For America (AFA) as part of the “VOTE FOR FREEDOM” non-partisan national college tour.
VOTE FOR FREEDOM is a nationwide initiative to encourage young Americans to seek common ground and help heal our nation by being active participants in our representative democracy.
Dr. Olivas will participate in a moderated ‘fireside chat’ with EPCC faculty and students, followed by a discussion with student leaders. Before the events begin, EPCC will hold a morning media preview.
