Delivery: October 28, 2026
Location: Flood response site near Horizon High School
Purpose: Support residents affected by flooding in Horizon City
El Pasoans Fighting Hunger delivered relief supplies October 28 to support Horizon City residents affected by recent flooding, responding to a request from United Way of El Paso County.
United Way reported that approximately 40 households, representing about 100 people, needed food assistance. Some residents had lost electricity, causing food to spoil and adding to the challenges families faced after the flooding.
EPFH coordinated the delivery with United Way to support the local response. United Way and the American Red Cross had established an emergency shelter at Horizon High School.
“When flooding disrupts a household, access to food is an immediate concern,” said Kris Yagel, Interim CEO of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. “We’re grateful to work with community partners to help our neighbors through a difficult time.”
