El Paso, Texas, June 17, 2024 – The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Forum Theatre will be buzzing once again this June, with the production of Beyond Therapy, a comedy by Christopher Durang, and designed for the Stage by Dominic Pagano.

Beyond Therapy is directed by Ted Karber Jr., and is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

“The student actors’ ability to step into the characters’ shoes has been great to watch. The entire cast is delightful, and watching them stretch their theatrical wings is really a great experience as a director and a teacher,” Karber, Jr. said.

Presentations will take place June 21, 22 and 23, and also June 28, 29 and 30. Show times are as follows: Friday’s and Saturday’s at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday’s at 2:00 p.m., and will take place at the EPCC Transmountain Forum Theatre, located at 9570 Gateway Blvd. North.

Admissions are one non-perishable food item per person, which will benefit the EPCC Tejano Mercado Food Pantry.

The Forum Theatre’s summer production is a comedy dealing with the intricacies and ridiculousness of relationships. Christopher Durang’s comedy Beyond Therapy, promises an evening of hilarity and non-stop laughs. Thomas Perez (last seen in the EPCC production of Anna Karenina as the cuckolded husband Karin) plays Bruce who takes out an ad in a NY newspaper to meet an “extraordinary” woman. He meets Prudence, played by Alana Lynn Gonzalez Martinez (Kitty in Anna Karenina and stage manager for A Streetcar Named Desire, Laundry & Bourbon and Lone Star, among others) and embarks on an absurd series of non-traditional dates. Thrown into the insanity of their relationship are their crackpot therapists: Charlotte and Stuart (played by April Rodriguez – Bea in the fall 2023 production of The Food Chain and Steven Stringfellow – Stiva in Anna Karenina) along with Bruce’s lover Bob (played by Adrian Almaraz) and a reform-school waiter named Andrew (played by John Levick).
