El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank is encouraging the community to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in the National Day of Service on Monday, January 20th. The food bank will be open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and welcomes volunteers to contribute any amount of time they can to help fight hunger in our region.
El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is honored to welcome local elected officials who will be donating their time to support the cause.
“Dr. King believed in the power of service and the importance of community,” said Susan Goodell, CEO of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. “We encourage everyone to join us this MLK Day.”
To amplify the spirit of service on MLK Day, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is launching its first-ever “Family Day.” Families with children of all ages are invited to experience the profound impact of giving back, together. This initiative will continue once a month, opening the doors for younger generations to discover the joy of volunteering.
“Instilling a sense of compassion and community engagement in children from a young age is invaluable,” added Goodell. “Family Day allows everyone to participate in making a difference, together.”
