El Paso, Tex. – The El Paso Symphony Orchestra is honored to perform and celebrate the 4th of July at the 13th annual “Pop Goes The Fort” concert in salute of the brave men and women of Fort Bliss and all those who served to protect our country. The free concert celebrating America’s Independence is on Thursday, July 4, 6:30pm at Biggs Park, 11388 Sergeant Major Blvd.
EPSO conductor Bohuslav Rattay will lead the El Paso Symphony in a patriotic and pops concert including traditional 4th of July music like The Washington Post, Buglers Holiday and Stars and Stripes Forever, plus music from Skyfall and Indian Jones. Singers Candice Reyes and SGT Jessica Brust of the Fort Bliss 1stArmored Division Band will join EPSO in songs Defying Gravity by Idina Manzel and Kristin Chenoweth, Bizet’s Habanera, In the Still of the Night by The Five Satins and more. The concert will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display.
The concert is free and open to public. Civilians interested in attending can now get a Fort Bliss community access pass. Gates open at 4pm with the Salute to the Union at 4:45pm followed by music by the 1st Armored Division Rock Band. No outside alcoholic beverages, glass containers or pets allowed. Food trucks available in the park.

We hope the public will come join us as we start our season and honor our troops at Fort Bliss!” said Ruth Ellen Jacobson, Executive Director of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra Association. “Our conductor, Bohuslav Rattay, has put together an exciting and varied program mixing traditional patriotic music, contemporary patriotic music, and pop music.”
The El Paso Symphony is working with Fort Bliss, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) to make this event special. The El Paso Symphony Orchestra is supported in part by the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department, Texas Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
