I-10 Lights Shine in Honor of Community College Month
El Paso, Texas, April 2, 2024 – As El Pasoans drive past downtown on the highway this April 1-15, they’ll notice the arched lights are shining in El Paso Community College’s (EPCC) signature teal color. Just as these lights illuminate I-10, EPCC lights a path to prosperity for our community. April, which is Community College Month, is the time to recognize the vital role that community colleges have in improving our region.
From five years old to 55 years old and beyond, EPCC has programs and classes that will improve your life. Elementary and middle school-aged children take enrichment courses through the Children’s College. High school students earn college credits, degrees and certifications. After high school, students enroll in courses to complete an associate degree in more than 150 programs. Adults in the community can reskill and upskill to get additional certifications to improve their careers or change careers through Continuing Education courses. Senior adults participate in programs that enrich their quality of life. EPCC has something for everyone.
“With the lowest tuition in the region and support services to help students find success, EPCC is laser-focused on its mission to provide access to affordable, quality education that helps students achieve their dreams,” Keri Moe, Associate Vice President of External Relations, Communication & Development said. “EPCC has been improving lives and strengthening our community for more than 50 years and we are proud to celebrate this impact during Community College Month.”
Since 1969, EPCC has been helping people in our region to access higher education and the better paying jobs that come with a degree or certificate. That success impacts individual lives, many of whom are the first in their family to attend college, but it also benefits the whole community. From training skilled workers in key job areas, like healthcare and STEM fields, to adding to El Paso’s business base, the opportunities EPCC provides benefit everyone.
