Sure Hands
Posted on 05. Mar, 2010 by admin.
The hand is a complicated work of art made up of the wrist, the palm and the fingers. The hand complex contains 29 bones, 29 joints, 123 ligaments, 34 muscles, 48 nerves and 30 arteries — WOW! About a quarter of the motor cortex in the human brain (the part of the brain that controls all movement in the body) is devoted to the muscles of the hands.

Ozzy’s Book Full of his Memories, Some of Them Untainted by Reality
Posted on 05. Mar, 2010 by admin.
The first thing Ozzy Osbourne does to set the record straight in his autobiography, the best-selling “I Am Ozzy,” is to acknowledge that his recollections of the past may differ from those of, well anyone and everyone else.
“Over the past 40 years,” writes heavy metal’s Prince of Darkness, “I’ve been loaded on booze, coke, acid, Quaaludes, glue, cough mixture, heroin, Rohypnol, Klonopin, Vicodin, and too many other heavy-duty substances to list in this footnote. On more than a few occasions I was on all of those at the same time. I’m not the (expletive) Encyclopaedia Britannica. … What you read here is what dribbled out of the jelly I call my brain when I asked it for my life story. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Halter problems? Try a harness
Posted on 05. Mar, 2010 by admin.
Q: I’ve heard that head halters can cause serious injuries if used incorrectly. A too-abrupt tug could jerk a dog’s head, causing neck or spinal injuries, couldn’t it? — S.T., via e-mail
A: Anything’s possible, which is why I don’t recommend using a head halter with one of those long, reel-type leashes. The force of a running dog hitting the end of a 30-foot line does have the potential to cause injury.

WHILE SOME MIGHT THINK ADHD IS OVERDIAGNOSED, IT IS REAL
Posted on 05. Mar, 2010 by admin.
QUESTION: I’ve heard that ADHD is controversial and that it may not even exist. You obviously disagree and believe that ADHD does exist.
DR. DOBSON: Yes, I disagree, although the disorder has become faddish and tends to be overdiagnosed. But when a child actually has this problem, I assure you that his or her parents and teachers don’t have to be convinced.

ECR Powerhouse Engine shop at Earnhardt-Childress Racing hits its stride
Posted on 26. Feb, 2010 by admin.
If there’s any group that has emerged as a leader two races into the 2010 Sprint Cup season, it’s the engine builders at Earnhardt-Childress Racing.
That engine shop is the product of a merger of the old engine crew at Dale Earnhardt Inc. and the engine shop at Richard Childress Racing. They dominated at Daytona, winning the Budweiser Shootout with Kevin Harvick, the DRIVE4COPD Nationwide Series race with Tony Stewart and the Daytona 500 with Jamie McMurray, who drives for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, which itself is a result of a merger between Teresa Earnhardt and Chip Ganassi.

POWER in your arms
Posted on 26. Feb, 2010 by admin.
Your target arm (left for right-handers) is the radius of your swing, and it controls the position of your clubface. At address, the target arm rests on top of the chest, and your goal during the swing is to maintain this arm-to-chest connection.
Your arms swing upward during the backswing and down from the top of your swing. Think of it as a surrender to gravity that drops your arms into the proper position to initiate the return to the ball. This is why it’s called the “downswing” and not the “around swing.”
