City Urges Community to Test for COVID-19 after Holiday Break | Self-Quarantine Strongly Advised Until Results are Recieved
Self-Quarantine Strongly Advised Until Results are Recieved
EL PASO, Texas (NOVEMBER 30, 2020)– Health officials are urging residents who traveled or gathered this holiday to get a COVID-19 test and self-quarantine until they receive their negative result.
“We know that while many people followed our advice to say home and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday virtually; others chose or needed to travel or gather,” said Public Health Director Angela Mora. “If you did travel and/or gather please immediately self-quarantine, make an appointment to test 5 days after you returned from travel or gathered, and continue to self-quarantine until you receive your test results. It is extremely important to stay away from others in case you contracted COVID-19 during the holiday weekend.”
While the number of cases has slowed down, health officials expect to see another spike in the coming days because of the holiday weekend. Health officials call on the general public and businesses to help minimize another spike by observing recommended precautions listed in the Health Orders and Guidance page provided at www.EPStrong.org.
