POE AUTOMOTIVE ANNOUNCES NEW HONDA DEALERSHIP
EL PASO HONDA TO RELOCATE TO LOOP 375
CELEBRATES 30-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
El Paso, TX- December 12, 2019 – at the ground-breaking ceremony, El Paso Honda announced that it will begin construction of a brand-new state-of-the-art Honda dealership alongside Loop 375 in El Paso, Texas, It will become El Paso’s easternmost new car dealership, affording convenience to El Paso’s strong eastwardly growing population.
“I am very proud to make this exciting announcement of El Paso Honda’s incredible growth plan in the El Paso community,” said Richard C. Poe II, President of El Paso Honda.
The newly constructed Honda dealership will be over double in size to the current location on Lee Trevino Drive and will include many new customer amenities including a dedicated quick-maintenance center as well as an air-conditioned service department and multiple customer lounges and business areas.
The new facility will incorporate electric charging stations, all LED lighting, and will be partially powered by solar energy. It will employ over one hundred El Pasoans and will be situated on approximately thirteen acres.

Celebrating its 30th birthday, El Paso Honda originally opened for business at Lee Trevino Drive on December 12, 1989, selling and servicing new and used Honda automobiles. It became part of Poe Automotive when Richard C. Poe II took over as President of the company also on this day, December 12th, 1994. Steady growth and strong community involvement made it necessary to expand and remodel the current facility in 2001. That growth has continued, which has led to this announcement. December 12, is Mr. Poe’s 25 anniversary with the company.
A fourth generation El Paso automotive dealer, Richard Poe II’s great-grandfather A.B. Poe, , Sr., first started out in the automobile business in El Paso and opened one of the first Chrysler/Plymouth dealerships in the world on Texas Street in El pas, in 1928. A.B. Poe Motor Company was also a distributor for Chrysler Corporation, distributing automobiles to dealers in the western United states. A.B. Poe, Sr. was alderman and then became Mayor of El Paso, Texas.
