Christmas time is finally here and all around the sun city everyone can see and sense it. Family coming into town along with the long lines at the mall. The anticipation for family gatherings along with presents and children excited to be on break. Tamales are in almost every home at this time of year and anticipation for presents is at an all-time high.
Along with all the holiday festivities, there are lots of events going on in and around town Christmas weekend. Public Skating at Winterfest will be going on until January 1st in front of the Camino Real Hotel. Skating admission is only $8 and there will be sessions all day long. The 84th annual Sun Bowl Game will also be attracting many people on Dec 26th as Arizona State faces off against NC State. Another big tradition in El Paso is the Mount Cristo Rey Hike through time that takes place on Dec 29th. A perfect time of the year to do this hike. Trailhead to Mt. Cristo Rey off McNutt Road (NM 273). Take the Racetrack exit off Paisano and cross the Rio Grande. Whatever you and your family do, be sure to embrace everything that’s happened this past year and look forward to a great 2018.
