DIEGO RIVERA Y FRIDA KAHLO: UNA SONRISA A MITAD DEL CAMINO

The Consulate General of Mexico, The Chamizal National Memorial and the Centro Cultural Mexicano Paso del Norte, are pleased to invite the binational community of the Paso del Norte region to the Photo Exhibition – Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo: Una Sonrisa a mitad del Camino.
Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, undoubtedly, one of the most iconic and controversial couples in Mexico’s Art History. Both, with striking personalities that provoked the most diverse feelings amongst their contemporaries, from envy, to admiration.
Diego and Frida: Una Sonrisa a Mitad del Camino, is a Photographic exhibition that displays an extensive part of the daily life of this unique couple through the lens of Guillermo Kahlo, Peter Jules, Guillermo Zamora, Nickolas Murray, Edward Weston, Manuel Álvarez Bravo and Juan Guzman among others.
The exhibition shows their second marriage union, their connection with the art world at the time, the relationship with master muralists and plastic artists like Jose Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros, and with their assistants and students.
The photographs reveal Frida’s pain and physical detriment during the years, Diego as a senior, and the couple’s last picture together.
The main purpose of this exhibition is to share with the audience the amazing, heartbreaking, intense intimate life of the couple.
