Sierra Providence has had some major additions to the hospital this past year and 2014 doesn’t look like they are slowing down one bit. February 5th Sierra Providence East Medical Center celebrated the ribbon cutting for its New Expanded Emergency Room Department. Many staff members and media were in attendance to watch this occasion. Members of the El Paso Chamber of commerce and the Hispanic chamber of commerce were on hand to say a few words congratulating the hospital. The importance for a facility like this in Far East is of great importance and this event showed the excitement of the community. The growth for Far East El Paso has been tremendous in the past 5 years and its great to see cutting edge and real growth for our community.
The New Emergency Room at Sierra Providence East will be 35,000 square feet in total size. The previous ER had 20 rooms and is now expanding to 38 private rooms for patients. This new facility will also house 2 Negative-pressure isolation rooms and a Level IV Trauma Facility designation. 7 Fast Track rooms along with 3 Trauma/Shock Rooms and designated Triage area will definitely bring this hospital up a notch. In the case of a huge catastrophic event, the outdoor site will be equipped to handle large scale biohazard events. Additions like this will only help the community in far East El Paso and provide the much needed convenience and care.
