Utility work requires street, lane closures Downtown

Parts of two downtown streets will be closed to accommodate underground electrical work associated with construction of the new downtown ballpark.

§  Franklin Avenue between El Paso Street and Santa Fe Street will be completely closed starting at 8pm on Monday, October 21, 2013.

§  The closure of one lane in each direction on Santa Fe Street between Missouri and Franklin Avenues will remain in place.

§  Both streets are expected to re-open by 6am on Friday, October 25, 2013.

Sun Metro bus routes that are currently traveling along Santa Fe Street will be using Oregon Street during the closures. Bus service will not be significantly impacted; however, some minor delays might occur during peak traffic hours.

When construction is complete, the City of El Paso will own the state-of-the-art downtown ballpark which will be the home of the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres baseball team.
