Of the growing demand for PTA’s, local Physical Therapist, Denise Campbell, PT, Dip. MDT, OCS, says, “As insurance requirements change and healthcare reform takes place the need for high quality physical therapy providers will increase. Specifically the need for PTA’s will greatly increase because of their unique position given their education and licensure.”
According to the American Physical Therapy Association www.apta.org, which represents more than 85,000 member physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), and students of physical therapy, National Physical Therapy Month (NPTM) is celebrated each October. APTA members are encouraged to use NPTM as an opportunity to reach out to consumers and educate them about the unique benefits of treatment by a physical therapist.
