Free Child Obesity Prevention 5K Walk/Run at Marty Robbins Recreation Center

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will host a free Child Obesity Prevention 5K Walk/Run at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Marty Robbins Recreation Center, 11620 Vista Del Sol Dr. This event is in observance of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month with the 5K run beginning at 8:00 a.m. followed by a variety of free children activities upon the run’s conclusion.

Carlos Martinez, Recreation Program Supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department and event organizer said, “This is a great way for us to show support in fighting childhood obesity in El Paso and around the country with this family oriented event.” Vendor space for individuals wishing to sell items is available for $45 and information tables only are $5.
